Greetings all from our nation's capitol. ISU Dems President Logan Faron, Historian Brendan Sullivan, and myself are in DC this weekend for the College Dems of America's 2005 Convention.

Today was the first day of officail events. Our day started on Capitol Hill visiting with members of Congress. Our ISU delegation visited with; Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL 2) and representatives from the office of Congresswoman Jan Schawkowsky (D-IL 9). Also for good measure we stopped for a photo-op with ISU's representative in Congress Jerry Weller (R-IL 11). It was a fun time to say hello to Mr. Weller...hahahahaha (evil laugh)....
After our visits we walked over to one of the holiest spots in all of DC, the HQ of the Democratic National Committee. We picked up our credentials and then joined the mob of College Dems on the trek back to the Capitol.
Once arriving back at the Capitol we attended a townhall forum put on by Democratic House Leader Nacny Pelosi and the Thirty-Something Working Group. Members in attendance included; Leader Pelosi, Representatives Meek (D-FL), Ryan (D-OH), Herseth (D-SD), Sanchez (D-CA), and Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL). The forum focused on young people and Social Security. It was a great event with time for Q & A and photos ops...
Day one is over and we are awaiting tommorow, where Senators Clinton and Kerry and Gov Dean, will address the convention...
